Ratz Nest Studio presents

Hot Off The Press

by Jam Ratz

CD

Inspiration struck late in the year (2019), and these songs were put together in record time from new lyrics as well as ideas that had been floating around for awhile. New co-writers Rudy Harly and Stan Force lent their ideas and lyrics to the mix. BRILLIANT!

Update: 02/01/2022 - To be consistent with the music submissions to Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Pandora, Amazon Music, etc. the cover art has changed, and a new song (Somebody's Calling Me) has been added.

Favorite Lyrics

Road block dead ahead
Windshield full of lead
DimeBag bowed his head  and said
“Tempt fate, no escape”

A L.E.M. and a lark
A shot in the dark
We got to park up there for awhile
I’m not very good with self-critique
But I’ve got a heart that’s true
Mortality rides overall
Not a lot of time left to leave stones un-turned
She sits on the beach, and stares past the reef
Where the surfers all gather to wait
For a mystical ride, that feeling inside
That you get just before it’s too late
You like to say
we always learn from our mistakes
But this one you’ve made
I’m not sure that you’ve got what it takes
To say you’re wrong & ask her back
And get your romance back on track
Dancing by the water
Singing that refrain
From the streets of Big Easy
To the shore of Ponchatrain
You said you were going out for smokes
That was 2 years ago!

If I could get a session with the famous Dr. Freud, would he dose me, diagnose me, schizophrenic-paranoid?  I don’t think so.

The city passing by is slumbering
The driver takes another right
And suddenly there’s neon beckoning
The throb of music fills the night
