The e-Mail Band
12 Songs
CD
Recorded in 1999, the second effort by Ratzlaff & Webb, under the banner of the “email band,” was essentially recorded in the same fashion as the first CD. Files were still passed back and forth as email attachments, but an odd phenomenon began to occur during the writing process. Song ideas passed from one bandmate to the other, would in turn, trigger new ideas and this snowball effect ended up creating new songs.
Early in the project, Webb went to Nashville and the duo saw the freedom on live recording. While the lion’s share of the project was accomplished sharing midi files, the seed of a new approach, which would be demonstrated in their next project, had been planted.
