After releasing two CDs as the “e-mail band,” Jamey Ratzlaff and Doug Webb wanted their next project to have a more organic, roots sounding quality. Released in 2000, under the name of Ratzlaff & Webb, the duo replaced MIDI sequencing with live recording and exchanged electric instrumentation for the more earthy sounds of an acoustic mandolin, dobro, accordion and banjo. This departure from technology and a return to their roots also prompted the CD’s name— “Home.”
