If every song tells a story, then Sawdust Charley’s new release is a journey through failed love, honky-tonks and broken dreams. The 15-song project, Sawdust Charley, back on track, Vol. I, came about after the two Kansas Music Hall of Famer’s—Jamey Ratzlaff and Doug Davis Webb—rewrote a lost original song from the band’s catalog—"Bartender, can you fix a marriage on the rocks?” The song’s demo was mixed using an innovative AI songwriting platform called Suno. The results exceed all expectations. This inspired them to revisit the Sawdust Charley archives, where 15 original songs were chosen for this project that they fondly refer to as their greatest hits. The songs were taken from a live performance, and on this night, the band was at their best. These songs are infused with country music’s humor and heartache.
